New Year's Eve.... 2010

Well here is the end of another year.... a time to reflect on the months past and the future yet to come. We are having a quiet night at home seeing the New Year in with our two eldest sons.

2011 is going to be a big year for all of us. Our 16 year old son starts College, our 12 year old starts Yr 6 and our 6 year old starts 1st grade while our youngest boys (twins) start preschool so I will have just my two little sweetpea princesses at home with me next year. It will be with mixed emotions I wave goodbye to my two youngest boys off to Preschool for two full days per week.

What will the new year hold for us? What will the new year hold for you?

Missing in action???

I have to apologise! So sorry, I've not blogged for such a long time and feel ashamed really.
But on the bright side, i've been a bit busy behind the sewing machine. I hope you like the photo's following. :)

Little soft sole shoes.... suede leather sole and fabric uppers.
There are plenty of good tutorials to follow to make these.

Vanilla and creme polka dot ruffle nappy covers. I love love love making these.
They're super cute on and my little girl (2.5yr old) loves her collection.

Ooh la la... Paris shift dress. This is super cool cotton and looks so pretty on.

A sweetheart is this little barefoot roses dress which has gone to a new home for a little girls 'Handmade Christmas'.

This super cute sun hat I made for my daughter, Isabella. Fondly known as the Bella hat, it's stunning on and I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

Below: The pink tutu skirt.... this is one of my favourites. I love making these and my daughter loves receiving them even more.

The hidden crafter.....

There's one in all of us..... but especially so in Sarah. Here is her Blog detailing her craft and the items she has made so far. I hope you enjoy reading her Blog as much as I do.

Shoes shoes shoes.....

It's basically what I've been making most these days and they're really popular!!

I'd never ever thought of making this sort of item before but having stumbled across a pattern a few months back now, thought I'd 'give it a go' and now I've perfected the making of them and they're selling like hotcakes!

I only use quality 100% cotton fabric for the uppers, they're lined and have a soft suede leather sole. I love these little shoes and they're sooooo cute!

What do you think?

Red and White polka dots......

Need a matching nappy cover?

And with ruffles, no less!

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment :D

July

My apologies for being incredibly neglectful of my blog page. But, the reason is a positive one. I've been busily sewing and creating new items. Lots of ruffled nappy covers and matching swing tops have been the flavour and I really enjoy making these.

My 11-year old son has requested I make a shirt for him. He's designed it and he wants me to produce it... hrmmm a little designer in the making? He's a clever young fellow.

My almost 2-year old daughter loves mummy's new sewing room and is often found helping me by rearranging my ribbons and such to her liking. I can see she is becoming a keen little seamstress herself (she even has her own little kit).

Here is something I made recently and would love any feedback you may have.

Headbands

I've been a bit busy you could say. I have just finished off making three different styles of headbands.

The first style is the Aubergine Sugar Plum princess band.

The second style is Sweet Vintage Princess band.

The third style is Blossom in pink with seed pearls.

I had a lot of fun making these!

~ Welcome ~

~ Welcome ~

To The Ruby Red Raspberry

This is my first attempt at blogging so I apologise in advance if I mess this up.
I'm a keen follower of many a crafter's blog and dabble in a bit of craftwork myself.
Currently, I am sewing and creating beautiful things for my children and our home.
As a mother to 7 little Australians, I'm a super busy stay-at-home (SAHM) mum which I love but has its challenges also. I don't mind a good challenge though.

This is my first entry and hope to share many more as well as photo's of various beautiful items I have made.

Bye for now xx
